About

The systems stabilizer.

Not the tech fixer. There’s a difference — and it changes everything about how we work.

Founder

Built from years inside the work — not observing it from the outside.

Avalon Systems grew out of a simple observation repeated across a decade of nonprofit operations work: organizations weren’t struggling because their people lacked commitment. They were struggling because the systems underneath them were fragile, undocumented, and held together by individuals who couldn’t afford to leave.

That experience — across program design, grant writing, board dynamics, and operational infrastructure — shapes how we work. We’ve sat in the meetings where a staff departure becomes a crisis. We’ve seen what happens when a grant report can’t be assembled because the documentation doesn’t exist. We’ve watched founders absorb operational work that no one else knew how to do.

Avalon Systems is a direct response to that pattern. Not a tech company that sells software, not a consultant who delivers a report and leaves — a systems partner that stays until the foundation is solid.

“You are not the tech fixer. You are the systems stabilizer.”

Why Avalon Systems

Not just services — a different way of thinking about nonprofit infrastructure.

Real-World Nonprofit Experience

Built from years inside nonprofit operations — program design, grant writing, board dynamics, and system failure. We’ve lived the problems we solve, not just studied them.

Systems Stabilizer, Not Tech Fixer

We don’t patch problems. We redesign how your organization operates so problems stop recurring. Root causes, not surface symptoms.

Cost Optimization Built In

We maximize nonprofit licensing, TechSoup resources, and SaaS consolidation — often recovering meaningful operational savings in year one. Our model is intentionally capacity-limited to ensure quality and long-term stability for each organization.

Regional Roots, Remote Ready

Deep relationships in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, with remote delivery capability for right-fit organizations beyond our region. Trusted locally, scalable intentionally.

Ecosystem Alignment

Connected to Avalon Foundation’s KC4K Initiative

Avalon Systems operates alongside — not inside — Avalon Foundation’s KC4K workforce development initiative, which creates employment pathways for young people through nonprofit sector exposure.

This relationship is separate from Avalon Systems client services. It’s optional for clients and managed independently — but it reflects the broader mission that animates both organizations.
